So last weekend I was out trolling and my engine died, it sounded like it was starving for fuel. After popping the cowling off I noticed I was missing a bolt in my 3rd carb..I guess its the intake vacuum port..I replaced it along with new brass gas fittings and a new fuel filter. It started up and ran for about 45 seconds then died again..now I can't get it to turn over. ..what has happened? Hurting to get in the water and fish!!

I think you may want to take the carbs completely apart and soak them in Carb Cleaner..
Auto parts store sell it by the gallon and comes with a nice basket for your parts....
After soaking you should spray them with carb cleaner ( Spray Can ) and blow all the little holes with compressed air to make sure you get everything out...

Just a thought ..

You can try soaking them in acetone, I would let each carb soak for at least 24Hrs.. That was what I just used to saok the last set I just did, They were really bad...
Just make sure no plastic parts are in there...
Also, You may want to check all your fuel lines, If fuel goes through them, Checkem...
Make sure that they are good... If you have bad decaying lines, The carb rebuilds will do nothing... I just went through hell with my boat, Rebuilt carbs 3 times, Then come to find out, the lines were rotted...

I found that the mech..did a acid wash ..he's taken them back apart and cleaned again..new fuel filter supposedly had fibers that got stuck in the carbs after rebuild.. Hoping it's all fixed! Got new gas lines and brass fittings too
