Hello,
I've got a 2003 Ranger Bay 2300. It has a white rubrail on it that is only held on by double sided adhesive.
Around my fuel fill, and a few spots where my boat lift slings rest, the adhesive has failed. It is almost 14yrs old...so I can't complain. However, I am having a hard time figuring out the best way to fix it.
The rubrail itself is in great shape, just the adhesive has failed.
I bought new adhesive, cleaned up the rubrail and the hull where the old adhesive failed, and for some reason it didn't stick. Maybe the factory applied adhesive is stronger?
I hate to get a screw-on or bolt-on rubrail when the one I have lasted over 10 yrs and still looks good. I just am having a hard time figuring out what type of adhesive was used.
Any ideas or input?
Maybe my hull and the rubrail wasn't clean enough? What should I clean it with prior to re-applying the adhesive?
THanks in advance,
Shawn
