Yes it is normal and can it be eliminated by tilting the engine up past level. With the engine down you will notice that the spark plugs are pointing out and down. This mean the cylinders are also pointing downward.
When the engine is in this position some of the oil goes in the cylinder behind the piston. As the engine cools some oil seeps past the rings.
The reason this doesn't happen on car engines is that the spark plugs point upward and the back of the cylinder and pistond are down towards the ground so no oil gets into the cylinders.
If Rodbolt was available he would be able to explain this.
But if you want to eliminate the problem just tilt the engine until the spark plugs point up a little. Then the oil will run out of the cylinder and back down into the engine.
