your last PM indicates you may have it resolved.
the final test. key on engine off drain the oil from the engine tank via the water trap. the alarm hould sound,3 bars flash and transfer on for 180 seconds.
the alarm while cranking with the lanyard not working I am not worried about onthis application.
now we want to test oil and overheat alarms.

Rodbolt,

Yeah I am not worried about the lanyard alarm or startup buzzer either, especially since I can test it ocassionally myself.

I will be removing and draining the engine oil tank on Friday to fix my tank oil screen tube o-ring screw up. Thanks for politely telling me I was an idiot for pulling it out the way I did! I will find that o-ring ! I will test oil alarms again at that time when I refill and clock it's speed to full. (180 seconds).

I tested overheat alarms last night by completing the circuit on the Port side thermoswitch. Got buzzer and got overheat indicator, several times. Will verify Starboard side on Friday as well.

loyoki- it's a 2 stroke and the oil bars were good to go after it filled up and stopped, when I first turned on the switch, so I am confident it will repeat once drained.

After these tests on Friday, I plan to splash on Saturday and finally get to burn some Yamaha gas. I am still burning 50:1 while I verify oil pump output. I have about 15 gallons left of pre-mix left in my tank from the other motor.

Kinda feeling like a new father here.

I do know I have enjoyed this re-power project, as not only was it rewarding, cost effective and enjoyable, it was also good to get my hands on every system on the boat and learn something.

Rodbolt, you are certainly a credit to your profession, thanks for all your guidance !
