Over the weekend after a fishing trip, while at the landing waiting in the water to pick up I noticed that my engine was idling high at around 1200 RPM. Checked my hot foot to make sure it wasn't stuck which wasn't. The next day at home I cranked up to check and same thing, idling high. There were no issues while on plane and and the engine ran fine. There were also no issues at home cranking the engine, starts just fine. Anyone have any suggestions as to where I can begin to look for what could be the issue?

Disconnect the throttle linkage from your remote control inside the engine compartment. Then manually push the engine throttle linkage back till the throttle stop knurled, spring loaded, screw is firmly against the stop. Start the engine. What's your rpm now?

Looks like the tachometer at my console is not reading correctly. Used a handheld tach on the flywheel and that is reading at 650-700 RPM.

I thought I answered this yesterday. If not here goes again: You're dead nuts on the value the manual specifies for idle rpm, in the water, in F gear, boat moving! Leave it be!
