2004 4 stroke 9.9 to 15

Trying to see what it takes to convert an 04 9.9 to 15hp. Its the 323cc motor and i’m curious if the difference is just in the carbs. Any feedback or pointers would be awesome.

All ya have to do is check part numbers and exploded views right here on iboats.

Just a carb to make that change to 15. If you want to get to 18 then you need a carb and a new camshaft.

Does the carb itself need to be changed or can it just be rejetted

The carb needs to be bigger, to flow more air as well as fuel. Rejetting just changes the mixture, not air flow. But still go through the parts listing for both engines to make sure there are no other differences, also intial timing and advance curves might be different
