Hey everybody,I just picked up a 2004 Triumph with a 50hp 2004. As I wait for the manual to arrive I have a couple questions to throw out there. There is a 4 wire connection that sits at the front of the engine that was disconnected, when I hook it up the warning horn sounds as soon as the key is moved to power. Is this normal until the engine is started and all systems check, or do I have a wiring problem? I have the carbs apart so I can't start her yet, this boat has been sitting for a while. Also the Tach guage has a grey wire coming off of it that attaches to a four hole connector with no mate to be found, is this for a Temp guage addition? Appreciate any response.

Re: 2004 50 2stroke yama, wiring

I just finished connecting the very same wiring on my 2003 50 hp. The two, four-wire connectors on the front port side of the motor are for the trim/oil harness which connects to gauges. In my case, I have an analog tach, which has oil warning lights in it. I plan on adding a trim gauge (now that wiring is in place!). The part number for the trim/oil harness is 68F825535000. About $62 for 16' length.
