2.9... I don't have the best credit

Wait a second, 2.9% on a used car, with less than stellar credit...isn't that a very low rate? I don't use credit so don't know the going %'s but that sounds really low to me.

That does sound like a great interest rate. I had a 1999 Dodge 1/2 ton extended cab. I loved the truck but the service at the dealerships around here sucked. So I went back to Ford.

A good friend of mine, who is a great mechanic, used to always say. "It doesnt matter what brand of vehicle it is, it will have problems, you just need to keep up on the routine maintenance."

Congrats on your new toy and just remember you neighbor isnt the one driving it. If you like it that is what matters.

Getting the codes is easy ....it's done by your ignition key ...only problem is the wiring...certain codes are confussing....you think there is a big problem when it's low coolant or wiper fuild low....too many things in the same circuit {crappy wiring}tune-ups are real pricey with that many coils ...you will learn to do them youself or you will have to take a loan out to do it.....false codes is the worest problem with them....mostly caused by cold vehicle....electric throttle doesn't respond sometimes on cold days .....keep your chargeing system in good shape

Maybe with some machine work, you could have a 'hemi' four-banger! Wouldn't that be a kicker....

<<)))(((>>

I've got several Hemis - couple in Kias and one in my Ram ;) With the MDS on the one in my Ram is a hemi 4 banger. Its a good motor so far (47K) and made better by the lifetime warranty they were giving on the powertrain in 09. I would say that if they offered lifetime on the motor for free that they are pretty confident that it'll last.

Shane, don't beat yourself up. You still got a GREAT rate, and your truck will be paid for in two years. Do you realize how many people right now are still upside down after two years of payments? As long as you're not one of those people who has to rack up 30k miles a year I'd say ya done good. Enjoy the Ram!

tune-ups are real pricey with that many coils
Why would you replace the coils for a "tune up"? Or are you referring to the labor involved in getting to the plugs?

JMO.....who cares what it looks like. Will it pull a greased string out of a fat hog's butt? :D

Take care of the truck, and it will take care of you.

Tickles me to hear all the bragging about a 'hemi'. Hemi is short for hemispherical, which refers to the design/shape of the head's combustion chamber. Maybe with some machine work, you could have a 'hemi' four-banger! Wouldn't that be a kicker....

The old Mitsubishi 2.6L 4-banger, as used in a number of Chrysler and Mitsubishi vehicles back in the '80s.

the tune up where you have to remove the coils is only at 100K. it is a pain on all the trucks now days.

as someone who has 3 fords I would say you got a nice truck. This year when I bought my dually I was definitely looking at a few dodges. I love their look inside and out. I have a couple buddies who have them with hemis. no issues on them at all.

sounds like your neighbor is one of those guys who thinks the only vehicle worth owning is whatever he happens to own.

oh and 2.9 is a great rate.

On the 2009's it is every 30K - and it is a big pain to remove the coils and replace all 16 plugs.

Personally I test them ....but you take it to the dealer ....they call for full replacement of the coils
