I have a new 2005 250 HPDI VMAX on a Ranger boat (with keyless ignition).. I've only had the boat out 6 times in the past 5 wks... only encountered one problem. When the weather is cold, its very hard to start. I noticed this about a week ago.. the weather was about 40 degrees, and I had a rough time starting it.. also noticed no choke on the controls. I called my dealer and they explained no choke needed...and recomended not to use the neutral throttle while trying to start. Went back and the weather was warmer.. no problems... Went fishing this past saturday - temp 36 degrees... it took me about 10 minutes to get it to start and half way idle... Plans are to call Yamaha and my dealer back tomorrow.. something just don't sound right.. any suggestions would be helpful.. PS - great web site.
