2005 50 hp honda 4 stroke carb troubles

Hi, I just acquired this motor.Its been setting on a boat backed in to the woods for 5 yrs. Motor has less than 10 hrs. run time on it. I'm not a mechanic but have had outboards for 35 yrs. and have always serviced my motors. Under the cowl was wasp nests and very dirty. I cleaned it up then, I changed oil, filter,lower unit oil, gas filter and plugs. Rodded out every hose that had and open end. Loaded a clean tank with 6 gals. 89 gas and 12 oz. of sea foam and she started right up in the barrel. left it run a few mins. shut it off took cowl off and the motor body was full of gas. Theres two 1/4 " hoses coming down from behind carbs and gas is pumping out of them when the motor is running or when i pump the primer ball on hose from tank to motor. I'm not sure whats going on.

You simply have either a stuck float or grime in the carb. You need to rebuild the carb(s) and fuel pump(s).

I believe you may find that those are discharge hoses for safely draining the carbs. They are operated by turning the screws that are in the bottom of the carbs. Check all of your bottom screw/plugs on the carbs.

I was hoping that was it. The top carb has a clear tube about 6" long coming from the drain on the carb. The other two carbs have no tubes connected to the drain holes . The two tubes the gas comes out of come from behind the carbs. I cant tell what they are hooked too. Its going to someone to check it out. I'm not going to put the carbs.

Poor little honda . Man if I had an '05 4 stroke last thing it would be doing would be setting around in the woods building up grime. Where in VA are ya? Im in the Richmond area.

LOL....i thought the same thing. When the guy pulled up with a 16' jon boat with a 50 and a 9.9 honda setting on the back. Both motors were green.The boat was half full of leaves. And he had drove 60 miles to my house in Dinwiddie.
