Have a 60 HP yami that is not reaching full RPM. It will start and idle fine initially, take it out of the slip, get on it , it sounds like it revs up for maybe 5 secs, hits full rmp then immediatly cuts down. Boat doesnt have a Tach, but sounds like it is cutting to the 2000rpm limiter. The engine has oil, new fuel, new fuel filter and fuel pump, new plugs. Has good cooling pressure. It shut it off for a few mins and start back up it will do the same 5 second spurt then cut back. Seems like it is running in safe mode. Is there a way to test if it is? No audible alarms are sounding. Wondering what the best way to diagnose this problem is. Any ideas? Seems like a fairly new motor to be having sensor problems.
