I have recently installed a 2005 Yamaha F115 with a known working 704 remote control box. The remote control and cables worked fine with a 1996 C115 very recently. Cables are routed the same as before with old engine and are not binding. Tilt/Trim has nothing to do with it because it acts the same at any tilt/trim level. The F115 appears to go into either F or R rather quickly and easily and then any extra movement of the throttle lever at the helm is very hard from that point on. It appears to be trying to continue pushing on the gear shift mechanism when it really is not required because it is already engaged. I believe that continued pushing is causing the stiffness on the throttle lever at the helm. Is there a way to adjust the shifting in either the remote control box (hopefully) or the engine to stop the "continued pushing on the gear shift mechanism" so that all works easier. With all cables removed from the engine the throttle and shifting do seems to work flawlessly. Difficult for me to explain. Thanks in advance.
