What would make an F115 not turn up all the way on the rpms? A little more than a year ago, the boat would turn up to about 5600 rpms with a given load. Now, with the same load, it will only turn up to about 5200-5300 rpms and subsequently I have lost a little top end. I stored the boat over the "off" season by putting fuel conditioner in the gas and running it long enough to get the "treated" fuel in the system. The motor cranks every time on the first try, idles fine, and doesn't sputter or anything as it is coming up to speed. I drained the remaining 5 gallons of fuel from the fuel tank and put fresh fuel in it to rule out old fuel problems. I have checked the fuel filter and it is fine. I changed the oil and it was also fine (even though I know this would have nothing to do with performance). I had the spark plugs changed last year at the 10 hour tune-up. I was just wondering what I can check to see why we are not seeing better numbers this year. How often should you change the plugs? Could this be the issue? I am thinking about running some Sea Foam through the engine to clean out any carb that may be built up. I guess this may help.

Anyway, any ideas or information you all can give me into this, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Is this a change that occurred since the boat was last used last fall? How many hours now on the engine? And has there been any buildup of scum on the bottom of the hull?

if you are sure its an '05 - that one is fuel injected...not carbed...the issue may be partial clog of the high pressure fuel pump screen in the vapor separator cannister...spark plugs on a 4 stroke should go 200-300 hours
