I've had this boat since new and have had great experience with it. I'm looking to do a few things to upgrade her a bit from stock. Wondering if anyone with the same boat has had a camper canvas package made for the boat. Back seats make a nice size bed for an overnight, but I can't find anyone who is able/willing to do a camper canvas package for it.

As for the other projects . . . add two new speakers near the back seats (like the new GLS 259), replace plastic cup holders with stainless steel, add a drink holder in the cockpit area (probably down by the speaker), Extra battery and battery selector switch, upgrade the Clarion stereo system to something that will play an iPod.

What has everyone else done?

Re: 2005 Glastron GX 255

I haven't had mine for very long but so far I've installed a wakeboard tower and an amp and sub back in the engine compartment. Will be adding some LED lights (two under the rear U-seats, and two up under the dash on both sides). I've thought about doing the dual battery setup as well since I don't want my amp to drain the starter battery, but haven't pulled the trigger on that yet.

I've never looked into the camper canvas, so not much help there. But did want to mention that you can get an ipod hooked up to the Clarion if you want. It would just be through a 3.5mm jack (headphone) rather than USB. I added that to mine and it's pretty easy to do. Just get an RCA to 3.5mm cable, and hook it up to the stereo's AUX input. There's three open RCA's coming out of the back of the deck, so you just need to find the right one.

Re: 2005 Glastron GX 255

I bought this boat brand new as well. I had problems the first 3 months I had it. Was in the shot 2 1/2 month out of the 3 months. Was on vacation and they did look out for me because they let me go to another Non warranty dealer who fixed my problem. But since then I've still had numerous issues with carpet/snaps/linkage (sp) with throttle/engine compartment/cletes etc. I have had more luck dealing with other people than Glastron dealerships like Crystal Pierz. The boat looks great but costs more than it's worth
