THey're good motors--reliable and start well cold. They built them relatively unchanged for several years. Good lower units in particular. Nice top end speed.
They also have good resale value.

Ty for that. I bought one new in 2005 and have used it 3 times since. On a 16ft, 400lb aluminum boat on smooth water it would push to a whisker over 30 mph. I just wondererd if there were any issues that have now been discovered that I needed to watch for is all.
