2005 Mercury 8 4strk. oil light sequence.

Can someone exlplain the sequence of oil light display when the motor gets started. Just got one and don't have owners manual.

Well. I posted in Nissan/Tohatsu board, that is who makes powerheads, and they operate almost identically. Now it is here

It comes on when you start the engine, then it goes off after a couple of seconds...In theory.
