Hello all, i'm a outboard tech that had a customer insist on bringing me a 2005 SeaDoo GTI RFI with a 800CC Rotax engine, oil injected 2-stroke., even though I told him im not all that versed in Skis,. Obviously I want to find his problem so here it is. I took it out to have it to replicate his issue and whats happening is youll hit the gas and itll fly....good power and starts like a champ. After a few minutes is stalls out to about 5 MPH. You can shut it off and start it again and itll scream...then fall on it's face again at 5 MPH. It never sputters or spits, just backs down. It sounds like its going into some sort of Limp mode or fail safe. Am I right to assume this? and what should I check to help diagnose his issue. No alarms are coming on or warning lights.
