I’m getting 12v at the white arrow. So, it looks like good power and operation to the harness

jumper from the white arrow to he other slots 1 at a time, solenoids must operate and run the motor. If Yes the trouble is heading to the control box wiring . There may also be another 4 conductor plug behind the control box

I can jump them at the “face” all works up and down. When you say control box .... you mean behind the throttle ?

Yes, if the trim pump works jumping at that plug the trouble is heading up to the control box mounted at the steering wheel

Check for a plug behind the panel and do the same test , jump red to blue and red to green . If pump works your wiring is good from there to the trim pump and the trouble is in the control box wiring or the switch in the control handel

If only it was that easy ..... there is no plug I can see or access. Just wiring going to no mans land ..... this makes no sense. The switch is new, the pump is new. Things don’t just STOP working. I’m guessing the dude at the marina has done something somewhere. I just don’t know what to do from here.

The strangest thing just happened ... I was messing around at the dash and then tried it and it WORKS ! I must have some kind of loose connection somewhere .... but I didn’t think anything behind the dash/console would affect the trim or power to it ?!? Hopefully it holds !!! Thank you sooooo much for walking me through this. You are a gem !!

If it suddenly stopped, then suddenly started again, trust me, in the very near future, it's going to 'suddenly stop' again....

It does sound like a bad connection, so look at all the connection points. Trim pumps and their associated harnesses have a tendency to get wet and corroded, even in such a short time period...

SWITCH OFF THE BATTERY and pull each wire off in turn and give them a very thorough cleaning. Clean them to bright shiny, and when you are finished, protect it all with some liquid neoprene. If you're looking for some long-term protection, electrically, then have a look at these threads....

Diodes to extend the life of the solenoids... https://forums.iboats.com/forum/eng...-trim-solenoid-potential-hack-for-longer-life

Bypass switch if the remote switch stops working, or the solenoids fry.... https://forums.iboats.com/forum/eng...es-outdrives/10635229-trim-solenoids-go-click

ok.. great advice... I will do this tomorrow !! Then, I have all my other problems to sort out. This all started when I brought the boat in for a merc tool scan at the marina to see what codes or errors would be there for me not getting any power under load.... but that's an entry different thread ! Thx again !

I have gained and lost trim now 4 times .... I guess it's time for a vinegar soak ! (is that ok? I read that in the other thread) it's near impossible to clean the "face" connector from pump as its within the rubber fitting... I will soak overnight with vinegar and see if that gets me a good connection... I did clean and sand what I could on the 2 blacks connecting from transom... currently with trim up and down.... not sure about trailer ... but I don't care at this point... I can trim it ! thx again !
