I should be on the lake for the first time this season right now but...

So yesterday I pulled my 2006 60 HP 4 Stroke out of the garage, fired it up on ear muffs and let it run perfectly for ten minutes or so. Turned it off, changed the engine oil, filter, and the lower unit oil. Everything started fine as usual and ran perfectly.

This morning I put it back on the ear muff, and no start. Absolutly nothing after the beep when you turn on the key. I have check the battery, and put a charger on it just to be sure. It has full charge, connections are good. It just does nothing as it the key is not being turned.

I'm going out now to check the selinoid(sp). But has anyone run into this? I'm not even sure which relay is which or what else I should be checking...

Further update, because I am impatient and and oldschool. I put my tester on the selenoid and got nothing when the key was turned. I just farmer started it and it starts and runs fine. So I believe I have has a selenoid die on me.

Which relay is for the starter itself?

You do not likely have a bad solenoid or starter. What you likely do have is a blown fuse. Check under the engine cover - you should find at least one fuse. They are sometimes in water tight holders so look carefully. They are normally located somewhere on the right side of the engine.

as it turns out, for some reason my key/ignition switch was rotated a little bit...I loosened it, tightened it back up and problem solved.

thanks for the reply.
