2006 F90TXR Tilts Up But Not Down

1) The unit tilts up just fine but not down. While holding the DOWN switch, it will go down easily if I push on it. If the UP-DOWN switch is not pushed then it is locked firmly in place (like it should be).​

2) When it does work going down, there seems to be a "pop" as it transitions from high speed to slow speed. Almost as if it were binding for a split second.​

Any idea as to what's going on here and how to repair? Thanks in advance. ​

Woodnaut, we have a force 125 this is what happens to forces. We always change the two washers in the pump first, fixes 90% of t&t leak down. This is not t&t leak down.

It sounds like tilt is not pushing or is it pulling the motor back down, 1, is the pump fluid topped up 2. test the switch I think it's called a double throw, it works for up,is it working for down? Is any oil leaking out of the seals where the ram goes through the seal? The pop, is something binding on the way down, have somebody do the down switch, you go back and look for binding or something wrong?

The low speed is the trim, the high speed tilt kicks in when the trim ram is fully extended out. going down the tilt is first down then trim is last.

I guess a washer or seal is broken, and not pushing yhe motor down. Keep us posted so we can help and learn something

If you have EFI there is diagnostic software to find and fix problems and log all maintance it's not a lot of money,I would have it.
