just curious if there are any tricks to get the bottom half off for a impeller replacement. The motor has about 300 hrs. on it and the bottom has never been apart. thanks in advance

Make sure all the bolts are out as most people leave one in... My saltwater used 115 4stroke was a mother to get the lower off...Here is the secret...after making sure all the bolts are out get to stiff putty knives as you will need to wedge them into what ever opening you get get..Don't beat on the aluminum or you will break the lower unit...very costly to replace or have welded....I spent one hour tapping on each side as the putty knives wedged and separated the lower unit... you can use wood wedges as well... The reason it was sticking was corrosion on the locating pins with salt..... Drop the lower every couple of years will make it easier the next time...Let us know of your sucesses...
