I have a 06 merc 150hp the trim stopped working one day I replaced the relays (nofix) replaced the motor (nofix) with a voltmeter I get 12v+ on both wires at the same time when pressing the up button on the motor, I get 12v- on both wires at the same time pressing the down button, relays click when activated, I have good ground and 12v+ connections other than this I'm mind boggled! Anyone have any ideas?

relays click when activated

Soooo when you say "relays click when activated", do you mean both clicked at once when activated with the up/down switch? OR....

Each relay clicked in turn depending on if you had pressed/activated its associated down switch and the other relay then clicked when you pressed/activated its associated up switch?

It sounds like something is wired incorrectly. The relays need to provide ground to the PTT motor when not energized.

A lot of Merc PTT harnesses have two ground wires per relay. One is for the relay primary winding, and the second (heavier wire) is to provide ground to the relay connection. You might check those.

So without pushing the trim switch, check the motor for power on both leads, to ground. Both leads should have zero voltage, and 100% continuity to ground.

If you get that, then push trim button up and check both motor leads to ground. Green wire should have zero voltage and continuity to ground. Blue wire should have +12VDC.

With trim button down pushed, green wire should have +12VDC and blue wire should be grounded.
