2006 mercury 4 stroke will not plane out

motor sounds like the prop is spun out, got a new prop, no good .motor starts easy idels great, it just will not get up and go like it should.could it be high speed jet? or what. any ideas greatly appreciated. thanks

(Motor sounds like prop is spun out) Do you mean motor revs high but boat won,t plane? If motor is over revving and boat not performing and prop is not spun, Then you have a bottom end problem. Can you turn the the prop by hand with it in gear ?

Can you describe a bit more what's happening? Does it go into gear and does the prop rotate at all ? Does it "go" forward at all? At some point going forward does it start to over rev? What HP are we talking about and how big is the boat ? Have you tried adjusting trim ?
