I just bought a new to me pontoon that is need of some help or a replacement bimini. The prior owner lost it down the river in a storm and it had caught the top in some trees which managed to save it. He rigged it so it 'works' but its definitely a pain to put up and down so I'd like to source a replacement. I tried contacting a few dealers to see if I can get an official top but didn't have much success. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I'm thinking the previous owner may have cut down some of the damaged tubing to make it work, so if someone has the official measurements that would be awesome. If there is a decent replacement for the aluminum out there someone can point me to, that'd be good too. Open to ideas.

Thanks!

Bimini tops are generally pretty easy to source, even Amazon has them. Just watch the quality of the fabric and hardware used carefully. There's a bunch of junk mixed with some pretty decent quality.

Would standard measurements be the width between the poles and then just overall tip to tip on the canvas? It'd be nice to not have to drill to install a replacement if possible.

Drill and install the mounting brackets? Original placement should work fine. Depending on what you get, there may be some difference in the hardware (set up for 3/4 round tube vs. something like 1 1/4" square tube for instance) that you may have to deal with. The locations should be about the same though.

The "factory" one came with front frame braces vs a fabric strap so I'm going to do some digging and see if I can come up with a similar one. Was nice to be able to run on the lake without worrying about it flapping or needing adjustment each time. Thanks for the suggestions!

This is going to be a next year purchase, but if anyone has suggestions on a full frame bimini vs one that uses a strap let me know. Thanks everyone!
