Any body who saw our post on tuesday about the generator, we spoke to soon about all being well with the boat. The boat was splashed sunday april first went fishing, all was great. Brought the boat back to the marina. We had fuel delivered on monday, went down tuesday to go for a ride and the starboard engine would not go over 1100rpm. No lights or buzzers ran diagnostic scan and only code 1.1 (meaning there are no stored codes) came back. Checked all electrical connections and fluid levels just in case hoping it would just reset it self but no good. Made a call to the local authorized dealer and they told me they are almost 30 days out on a service call. Hopefully somebody can give me some things to check and will appricate any info anybody can give. Hope your season does not start off like this. Ps engine starts easy and revs right up to 1100rpm and just wont go past. :( (does not seem like a fuel problem other engine runs perfectly)

I have a D4 and it could be any number of things, a few things that have put me in limp mode were ....

1 Shift actuator cable was stuck
2 manifold sending unit was fouled (now this one was an easy fix but hard to find because it doesn't register an error code on the EVC)
3 (if you have sterndrives is trim angle sending unit)

Good luck.....hard to figure out with out the computer to diagnose the motor

Hey O-fishal, mechanic finally came yesterday and there was no codes. Today he said it was a intake manifold sensor. he is also saying it needs to be replaced. Now by chance they might be the same thing. From your post it sounds like it can just be cleaned? If so could you also tell me where it is located on the engine so i can check or clean it. Thankyou.

It is about an $80 part and takes LITERALLY 5 mins to replace, the same part yes. You have to remove the cover on the top of the motor and its on the port side on top of the manifold unplug it remove and replace it.
