2006Mecruy 40 EFI 4 stroke 3 cylinder. The engine reduced speed at full throttle, which is related to the fuel system, very strange symptom!

The first time the problem occurred was sudden. After the motor was lifted for about 2 hours during trolling, it was found that the speed at maximum throttle was only around 4000 (normally above 5200). After inspection, everything seemed to be okay, so it was suspected that the injector was dirty. After cleaning, it turned out that the speed was normal.

After tens of hours of normal operation, this problem occurred for the second time after running out of fuel. It is normal to think that the residue in the fuel tank may have contaminated the injectors, and the speed returned to 5100 after cleaning again.

Then the fuel ran out again, the problem reappeared, and the injector was almost certainly blocked again. After removing it this time, I not only cleaned it, but also tested the injectors. I found that the electronic switch of the third injector was faulty. Sometimes it didn’t work. I don’t know if it was the reason why I was using a 9V battery. Then I installed on engin. Observe that the this oen is obviously insufficient fuel injection. Because there are no new accessories, I was eager to go fishing, so I could only temporarily put it back and use it.

The result was very unexpected. The speed reached 5800 rpm, probably because the cleaning was better this time, but it shows that the this injector is normal now.

So what is the reason, first of all, is there such a coincidence? Three times the problem occurred because the injector was blocked? I consulted other people, and some thought it was air entering the fuel system. Is it that when the fuel burns out, air will enter but the engine will not exhaust itself? And I only do cleaning every time, I don't know how to exhaust the air in the system.

Very strange symptoms, I was completely confused. Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

If running out of fuel for 3 times in a row gave those problems, don't go that way for a forth time, should be boating with sufficient fuel for that bad experience not to happen again.

Happy Boating

Screen is on fuel supply side of injector, fine mesh that clogs easily and damaged with compressed air.,look in the end with brite light.
