2007 Mercury Bigfoot 60 EFI Four stroke plug gap?

I do not have a maintenance manual, so I'm needing some help from those that do. I just bought brand new champion spark plugs RH8... same as the ones that came out. I gapped them at .035". A

is that the correct gap? If not what would occur running the plugs at .035"?

need the correct gap. Thanks in advance

My manual shows champion RA8HC gapped at .040 as original equipment. I doubt you will see any difference running at a .035 gap.
