Decided to take the boat out today and upon startup an alarm started to buzz continuously. Turned engine off a few times and still buzzing. Was told it could be oil alarm but looking at my level I was at 3/4 full. Any ideas?

My neighbor has an Opti about the same age, and we are chasing similar issues. Is the oil reservoir on the motor full? If not, that may be the alarm.

Is the motor overheating? That could also be the alarm.

Oil reservoir was not completely full, about 3/4 full. I had seen a Youtube video showing the inside of the reservoir and the float looked like it would buzz at the bottom quarter. Motor was not hot, had just launched and jumped in to fire it up. Water was peeing like a race horse out of the engine. Don't know. Heard too many problems with oil injection, wonder if would be best to convert to fuel oil mixture in gas tank?

You cannot premix fuel for an Optimax. That motor is directly injected (Gasoline only) into the combustion chamber. Oil only is injected into the block at various points.

Fill the motor reservoir and see if the alarm goes off. Is it single beeps or continuous? Have you ever changed the water seperator on the motor?

Alarm is a continuous one. Filled oil tank to full capacity and still the alarm sounds. I disconnected one of the oil lines going to the engine and watched it while engine running. Nothing came out so am looking at faulty oil pump. Was wondering what the applied voltage at the pump is?
