I have a 2007 tracker with a 25hp mercury EFI been sitting up for a year.I didn't add any fuel additive for storage.I tried to start it and found that it is not getting any fuel.I pulled the fuel filter and checked it was clear, gas smells stale. primer bulb pumps up tight but the is no fuel pressure going to fuel rail, acts like there is a blockage some where in the fuel system.when I spin the engine over there is very little fuel coming out of the fuel rail check valve.if anyone has any idea where I should start looking I would appreciate it.

i,m sorry was refering to carb but if you have restricted flo to the fuel rail i,m not sure about this set up but the may be a fuel sensor or fuel regulator that is not opening i,m sure someone with more knowledge of this system will help you in more detail

Electric fuel pump. You can check the fuel pressure with a gauge if you have one. This is assuming of course that the fuel is getting to the engine from the tank. How did you ready the engine for storage? Did you run it out of fuel for storage? If so, you probably over heated and trashed the fuel pump by doing so.

I have the 2006 version of this motor. I pulled my hair out two seasons ago on this problem. Replaced fuel pressure regulator at top of VST, fuel pump twice, map sensor, and still no fuel condition. When you depress Schrader valve on top of fuel rail, fuel, should shoot out with pressure. At present, no fuel at all comes out when I depress valve. If I remove spark plugs and spray fuel into cylinder will Start...and stall. Ended up going to wits end and replacing the ECU as I could think of no other part to cause issue as both wires to VST go into loom, wrap front of engine under pull cowl and go direct into ECU. Seems the ECU controls voltage to the fuel pump. I read elsewhere that the board inside changes the ground voltage to control pump velocity. ECU is $850. Well, it worked like magic, err, like it cost $850... Plugged new one in and voila. Ran perfect and as normal. Well, here I am again. Same condition as motor quit on me again. ECU lasted two years. Garbage. Now I have the fuel pump connector disconnected and if VST is hard wired to 12v motor runs as normal... well... what to do now....

just wanted to share. This is really a tohatsu motor......

Start a thread. This one is more than 9 years old.
