2008 Crestliner Super Hawk I/O 3.0 ??

Hi,
I am thinking about buying a 08 Crestliner Super Hawk I/o 3.0 litre motor and wondering if the 3.0 litre is enough for the boat ??????

I plan on not doing any skiing with the boat mostly fishing and some tube pulling. I am in 4,000 ft of elevation so that might make a little bit of difference but wondering if anyone has this boat and motor and how well it preforms.

I would suggest upgrading to a V-6 if you plan to do any water sports. The 3.0 will work but as many on this sight have stated, no one on here has ever complained they have too much horsepower. Go with the next size up.

Hey i plan on buying the same boat and cant decide on which engine. I do plan on pulling tubers and the dealer assures me the 3.0L will be alright. What do you think and what did you choose?

I know you read the above post, but you may want to post this same question in the watersports forum. You will find the overwhelming response to go with the V-6 as the 3.0 will be underpowered. You will also get about the same mileage as the 3.0 will need to work hard to keep the boat going. No one on this forum has ever complained that they wished they had purchased a smaller motor.

I just bought a 2008 Super Hawk I/O with a 4.3 and the captain's seats. I live in Minnesota so I haven't had a chance to get it wet yet, but I can't wait. I too was going to go with the 3.0 and the pro fishing seats but after thinking about how long I plan on keeping the boat I decided to upgrade both.

I just called my dealer and changed to the 4.3L wont have it on the water until april, let me know how your is.
