2008 Merc 4.3 drain plugs?

Hey guys, bought a 2008 Tahoe with a 4.3 merc and alpha one this summer. Used the manual to locate the drain plugs but of the 4 types of engines they list none seem to match my engine perfectly. I want to be sure I get all the water out. The serial number is 1A066646

Is there a schematic I could look up?

When I looked up your engine with the serial number this is the schematic that came up. Looks like you have the 5 point drain system.

Pull the two plugs on the block, two plugs on each manifold and the one plug on the Circ. hose. All the plugs should be blue in color and twist out by hand.

You said a 5 point system, I only count 4 blue drain plugs on the diagram. And on the 2nd sheet it says there are 9 blue drain plugs?

Do you know why?

Depending on if you have the Bravo drive unit and also if it is a closed cooling system will change the amount of drain locations. I assumed you had a Alpha drive with raw water cooling system.

The fourth plug not shown on the diagram is on the exact opposite of the block as the one shown. They are located right above the oil pan. Make sure to poke in there with some wire or a small screwdriver to push away any sand or debris that might be caught in there. You should have a solid stream of water coming out.

It is an Alpha One and raw water cooled - so it should definitely have 5 blue plugs? Thanks!
