I recently bought a 2008 merc 4 hp and I know they are tohatsu's.Also searched and found they are converted to 5 or 6 hp just by a carb change.I tried to find out what the carb costs online but cant seem to get anywhere.I know that more than a few people have done this and I am looking for a rough price estimate.
I am also wondering if I am sacrificing any reliability by doing this.I got the motor brand new for $500 so I am pretty stoked on that deal.I am also planning on getting the alternator too and am wondering how hard of an install that is.Thanks.
