Hi all
l have a 2008 trophy 2152 with a mercruiser 4.3 and alpha leg and l have the same problem when l try to the dock or just moving forward slowly l am always turning the steering left to right and left again all the time which is so tiring and so stupid l have had a lot of boats and nothing this bad but to me something is wrong could it be air or something else there is no loose anywhere except in the steering box which is about 3" or 4" movement of the steering ,if anybody can help ,l am getting very fed up with this boat it is supposed to be a fishing boat but you cannot traul at slow speed at all not even steer it to the dock .

Thanks Joe.

Re: 2008 trophy 2152 steering problem

I have outboards, but I have read posts where people mention that I/O's have a tendency to "walk the dog" when moving at or just above idle speed. For trolling just hold the wheel steady and it will track strait even though it's going back and forth slightly. If you suspect an issue, I woulve instruct a friend to steer the wheel back and forth while you observe the characterisics of the outdrive. It should move smoothly.

Re: 2008 trophy 2152 steering problem

Hi
l have put in a hydraulic steering now because l thought that the power steering was faulty but it is a new boat and it is still the same ,it go's about 3 to 4 feet to one side and then go's 3 to 4 feet the other way and keeps on going like this without me touching the steering at all and the steering doe's not move l don't think it should do that much l don't know l have had a lot of boats mainly with outboards but this boat is driving me insane l am a type of person who wants everything right and perfect and if l don't correct this problem l will end up hating the boat and sell it in the end l tried to find the email of trophy boats in America from there site but could not find it anywhere to tell them what it is doing maybe seeing it is there boat they may know there faults maybe ?

Thanks Joe.
