To RodBolt and the other Yamaha experts - What spare parts, tools, hoses...etc should I carry to get me back to the landing.

Just bought a 2008 90hp two stroke for my 18 Privateer. Breaking it in this weekend.

Spare 10 micron filter.
Extra oil
Spare plugs, plug wrench.

If that baby runs anything like my first 90 Yamaha (1986) very little. I ran that baby long and hard for ten years. Every other year it got plugs and an impeller.
Contrary to what others may say, It got a good spray of WD-40 both inside and outside. I always flushed it and would trim the motor ever so slightly and run the carbs dry.
For ten years it never had an electrical mishap, the oil injection was flawless, I never touched the carbs, lower unit never jammed or failed me.
Just as I was about to sell the bgoat, the motor started activating the warning buzzer under full throttle with a load. Even tho i flushed, those 3 cyl cooling passages are narrow and they were restricted. We pulled the head, blasted the passages clean, new gaskets and we were off and running.
Therefore, I have become a great fan of salt-away. You only have to flush with it for about thirty seconds...use the remainder to hose off the rest of the motor and the boat and trailer. Good luck, you have made a great purchase!

Salt Away. Never used it. After checking out their site it sounds like I should have. I'm also thinking how it would work well on my trailer. Although I do rinse off the trailer each time it still gets rusty. If the product works as advertised it may provide some protection from the time you launch until the time you can rinse off. thanks
