2009 OB ratings

Honda does not sell well in my area -coastal salt water. Are they over priced? Its almost all yamaha here, 10/1 vs mercs.
Is that marketing, or are these ratings really significant? see picture

That is a CSI and has nothing to do with sales numbers just how happy people are with there engines.

There was a thread awhile ago and Yamaha is the #1 seller right now, I ahve been in the builsness a long time and have seen just about everyone on top, Merc was it 10-15 years ago, then Honda, now it is Yamaha.

I really don't think you can lose, Yamaha or Honda are going to be good engines that will last along time.

With many offshore boats powered by 250s, 300s, and 350s, I'd think that Honda's lack of anything larger than a 225 might also be a factor.
