200hp Johnson it won't start

Hi, I have a 1976 200hp Johnson, it won't start, starter doesn’t do anything all I get is a click, batteries are new and the starter was rebuilt about 2 months a go. Any help I will really appreciated.<br />Thank you

1. New baterries dos not mean they are charged.<br /><br />2. Check every battery to engine connection, that includes the connections on the engine end. REMOVE each and clean them.

Cables are often overlooked. They can corrode inside and look great on the outside.

Hi, I jump the starter and it start really good, however if I use the key switch all I get is a click, any ideas, does the solenoid had to do anything with that click? <br />Thank you

test or replace start solenoid most likley the cause<br />if you have a voltage tester or light check for voltage on big red wire coming in yellow/red wire while trying to crank big red wire going to starter also check black wire to ground

I did replace the starter solenoid today and motor runs like a champ. <br />Thanks guys for all your help.<br />Thank you.
