hey guys,

I have a 1999 200hp 2 stroke, the cowl says 200 EFI but the engine has carbs (dont know one thing at all about outboards) my question is the carburetors need to be rebuilt but i can not find a rebuilt kit for them. The engines part number is 37-856984 11 according to the number on the engine info tag on the air box. The carburetors have a number on top of them which is 326-828272-0. Can some one please help me find the carburetor rebuild kit for these carbs? Thank you so much.

Thats a 2.5 liter 150 HP powerhead you have on there. Someone ether put a 200 cowl on it or they swapped power heads. I'm guessing its the former since the part number IS for a 1999 150 HP carbed motor.

A 150hp huh? Wow that's a shock and complete bummer honestly. What would this engine be worth for resale? The engine is in great shape but I'm looking for something with more power. Also the only place i found numbers were on the air box, where would the S/N on the engine be?

The engine serial number is located on the lower
starboard side of the engine block. A serial number
is also located on the starboard side of the swivel
bracket.
The one on the block looks like this:

The s/n will help determine what you really have.

Depends on your market. A 1999 150 HP merc in good shape brings $4000 or more here. I understand they can be worth a lot less in other parts of the country. 2.5 150's are good motors but if you arent happy , you arent happy. Check the serial number to be sure but the EFI on the cowl and carbs on the motor are a good indication that something is fishy. Not so simple to change things around on those motors. Much easier to change cowls. That part number is 1999 150 HP but the serial number is the decider.

serial number on the bracket is 06937981, the first number is worn out and looks like a zero but could be an 8 or 9.

That 6 is probably a G which would make the SN 0G937981 which is a 1999 Mercury 2.5L Offshore 200 XL model number 1200422VD

Wired: I can not find the number on the block for the life of me, and I'm thinking since the power head is in such good shape that somebody could have swapped a 150 power head

The only numbers I can find on the block is STP 07 01 02 which up on top of the block in between the cylinder banks and it has an H right above the STP 07 01 02 numbers, I know there should be a number on the freeze plug and I scrapped all the paint off of the freeze plug and there is no numbers whatsoever on the freeze plug on the top of the starboard cylinder bank. I see some numbers on top of the cylinder heads would that help in determining the engine size?

Its not a 150 or Xr4 as it has horizontal reeds.... its most likely a 200 in the 1989-90 range. The carb gasket kits you need are 18-7213

the bracket and numbers come back as a 1999 so i know the year for sure, and ya I knew there was something funky with it haha. Carb's just got sent out for rebuild as I figured a seasoned carburetor company would be the best bet. Glad to hear you guys think it's a 200.
