Boat sat more this year than usual probaly about 6 months. Went out last week to fish ran about 25 miles no problems, 4 miles from dock motor would bog down past 4200 rpms, put the boat on the trailer. Replaced fuel filters put fresh fuel in tank, took it back out a week later boat ran find for 6 miles then bogged down at 4200 rpms turn back around head back to dock after 100 yds motor bogged down and would not run much past a fast idle. limped back in about 6 miles at a whoping 6 mph removed cowl and noticed fuel leaking from lower fuel pump, ah found problem removed fuel pump noticed gasket and diaphragm cracked along bottom replaced on on both fuel pumps motor still does not run much past idle, it sputtered and dies. I connected an auxillary tank with fresh fuel directly to the fuel filter under the cowl still ran bad. Starts great just when you advance throttle is will sputter and die. Thanks in advance for any help,

Re: 200hpdi stalling

After reading some other post on this report I tried a few things, I took down the vst and cleaned the screen, which did have some trash in it, I also removed the medium pressure filter, and since I did not have one to replace it with I soaked it in some carb cleaner and blew it out, put it all back together but it still ran the same, starts easliy but as soon as you touch the throttle it stalls and wants to die, can anybody advise me?

Re: 200hpdi stalling

your going to have to check both the medium pressure rail and the high pressure rail at the SAME time at the problem RPM.
rodbolt has been a tad busy this week, some folks will be happy some will need plan B.

I checked the pressure at the medium pressure is 47psi. Unfortunately I dont have the equipment to check the the high pressure rail.

Re: 200hpdi stalling

47 is on the low side but it should be enough. most likly the medium pressure inline filter is clogged.
I would clean the VST and change the inline medium pressure filter using the correct clamp at reassembly.

Thanks to you rodbolt you hit it on the nail, changed filter, she runs as good as new. Again many thanks, now if we could get BP to fix their problem we could get back to spankin speckle trout!
