1987 200xp does not want to idle smoking like crazy. I've checked compression #105 all 6. Rebuilt carbs, new plugs, has good spark. And choke is working properly. Under about 1500 rpm it starts loading up and running really ruff. The higher the rpm the better she runs. What could be causing the rich running at low rpm?

Are you talking about the valves that screw in the crankcase near intake and have a hose going to each cylinder?

Yes and there is a procedure in the service manual to check them out.

Well I checked them out according to service manual. 3 were good and 3 you could pull air thru and also push alcohol thru so their bad. My guestion now is should I buy 3 oem check valves at $25 a piece or would it work to run 3 Aftermarket check valves at $3 dollars a piece. I know I am a tight *** but if they would work just as well why spend the $ ?

Get the $3.00 ones and check them out before you install them.

The place I was going to get check valves from said it would take till June to get them. Is there anywhere you all have got the inline ones at in the past?
