My 2010 5.7Gxi (just on 60 hrs) has developed a vibration at 900-1200rpm (unfortunately this is "no wake" speed) See video below, you can actually see the camera vibrating and hear the whole boat rattling.

It does this whether in or out of gear (rules out prop) and when underway at idle speed transmits the vibration to the whole boat.

It has just spent 3 days at the dealer, who have now given up and say "take it up with Volvo" . They think it is an engine missfire on 1 cyl and have gone through plugs, leads, cap, fuel pressures, and flushed through the entire fuel system.

Anyone any ideas? How do I take it up with Volvo?

did this problem develop gradually? Or was it bam. One day started it and it shook. Is it intermittent, or there consistently?

Sure seems like more than 1 misfiring cylinder.

Your dealer should not return it to you like that. They should take it up with Volvo. Any other VP dealers in your area?

It's a simple case of a dealer taking the time to run diagnostic tests. That doesn't look difficult to diagnose - especially if it will do it in neutral on the trailer.

Ayuh,... Is this the Dealer you bought it from,..??
Is this Dealer a Volvo Dealer,..??

If so,... Drag it back to them, 'n tell Them to take it up with Volvo....

That is not an engine miss. Tell the dealer to pull the drive and insepct the engine coupler, bearings, ujoints, alignment, etc.

Hmm this was my thoughts too, something is out of balance somewhere.....Unfortunately I am not dealing with the selling dealer but with the only Volvo dealer in my area

That kind of tells me you took your boat to the boat dealer, not a Volvo dealer.
Find your closest VP dealer, or get in touch with Volvo. Look in your warranty information that came with your boat.
A very simple test that even the boat dealer should have done was to pull the outdrive off the boat and see if the vibration is still there. If you still have the vibration, it's an engine problem, if it goes away, it's drive related. Probably ujoints or coupler.

UPDATE:
Volvo have now told the dealer to pull the drive and inspect the coupler....
