If the selling dealership is not attentive to your concerns, don't hesitate to call customer service @ Bentley Encore in Lexington, SC--(803) 520-5280. Manufacturers often can tell owners the preferred propeller sizes and mounting heights for the engines. You should make sure you know the exact model number of your boat AND motor.

Mercury Black Max 77338A33 has been the stock prop on both my 60 bigfoot motors 14x11. WOT RPMs is 5800

14 inches n diameter and 11 inches of pitch. You currently have a 13-3/4 x 15. The 14 x 11 is likely a pontoon/workboat prop whereas the current prop is for a planing hull.

I dont know about your boat size, but I have a 22' with a 60HP BigFoot and I can twist up to about 5500RPM. I dont know much about props, but I believe my dealer told me he gave me a 9.

It's a 20ft Bentley ... I did raise the motor two notches And that solved the water splashing back deck prob. But still need to re prop to get in correct wot rpm's

So install the prop that several have recommended. A 14x9 or a 14x11. You've even been given the Merc part number.

Silver tip. I've been given a merc. Number. That I can't find. I can find a black max 14X11 just not the part number that was suggested. Asked the diff.

Google will return results for both place a 48- in the front as that's the full part #... 48-77338A33 and 48-77338A45.

According to this pdf http://www.schiffszubehoer.eu/WebRo...376D/C0A8/28BB/EDD3/merc-mariner_original.pdf which I found on the web, one is rated for 40-60 HP and the other 60-150 HP (see page 2). Either would work for you.

This really isn't something you should be paying for. It sounds like the dealer did not set up the motor correctly for you. They should fix that- not you.

After raising my motor. My top wot rpm's is 4500 tops.

I am actually going out tomorrow and planning on clocking it with GPS for the first time. I will let you know the speed and confirm WOT RPM.
Havent pulled a tube, but I might in the future. I think I am mid 20's MPH.

WOT was 5200RPM. With about 1100lbs of guys and gear that was good for 17MPH.
Water temp was 72deg.

Was that load what you would consider "average". You should be doing your testing with what you consider an average load (the way the boat will be loaded MOST of the time). If you prop for a maximum load the engine will overrev with a light load. If you prop for an average load the engine will be happier most of the time, recognizing that you will load it up periodically.

900-1100 lbs should be very consistent for me. It will go faster when it's just my wife, myself, and our two little ones, but we will almost always have someone else with us too.
