2011 engine keeps beeping that it’s overheating!

Engine idles fine - putts around no problem- but when RPMs increased, beeps that it’s overheating quickly. Overheats (well, beeps) on the ears and hose, too.

Have replaced impeller, temp gage replaced, compression is 200 on all 4 plugs (also all new), new fuel/water separator, oil looks new so haven’t changed nor lower unit oil but have the stuff to do it, and new prop.

Still signals it overheating with the ears on.

What can I check next?? Also, does this model have a poppet valve or screens that I can check? Thanks in advance!!

Shoot, sorry. It’s a 115.

I could not find a 2011 115HP Merc, but the 2012 Merc 115 has a poppit on the side of the block. If would makes sense to inspect and repair it.

It’s crazy. We keep hearing yes there is and no there isn’t a poppet valve from every other place we ask. I just ordered a manual from Amazon. And I think we may just break down and take it for a diagnostic. So bummed that all that work didn’t fix it.

2011 or 2012? The serial number is used to ID Mercury outboard motor parts, not the year. Try searching using the serial number.
