I have a pontoon with a yam F115, 2012. The tach is very jumpy but the actual engine toms does not change. Tapping the glass on the guage can either cause it to jump or stop it from jumping. Any tips on what I can do to fix?

Probably loose and/or corroded wires/connections on the back of tachometer.....need to remove each one, clean, grease, tighten....also check same for in-line fuses to the tachometer....

Thanks Bud! Sorry....I have not been on here in a long while. I don't see anything wrong with the connections. Its a plug-type. Its seems that when I remove the plug and plug back in....it works for a while but then starts acting dumb again.

if unplugging and plugging back on helps for a little while,
then that connector could be where the bad connection is located. clean and lubricate

some tachs have switches for setting them for proper motor,
you might try switching them back and forth a few times to clean the internal connections

Most any grease will do....heck, I've used a Chapstick plenty of times....just something to keep the moisture off those metal contacts....
