This problem has been around for a few years but seems to happen now almost every time I try to start the engine on the water. It starts fine in the morning for the first time of the day. When the engine is warm it stalls after a brief moment at first attempt to start. Starts fine with second attempt (so far).

you could try pumping the primer bulb before a warm start to see if that keeps it from stalling.
if it does the VST may be low on fuel on warm restart.
then just find out what is causing that to hapen.
if it does not help then you know low level in VST is not the problem
look for something else

A friend suggested that putting the ignition switch in the run position for a few seconds before starting primes the engine. I tried it a few times and it did seem to solve the problem. Too soon to know conclusively, but is this a possible solution?
