seems like even from iBoats' perspective, it would be a good thing......"look what you can do with an old tub and thousands of dollars sent our way...." joking there, but seriously, before n after pics would help them sell parts

Guys, believe it or not, I just discovered this thread only a few minutes ago. Thanks jb for all your efforts. I'd like to thank all of you and many others not mentioned in this thread for their encouraging compliments and support. I worked on this boat for some time before accidentally finding Iboats. It was a lonely task that sometimes made me wonder if I should persist. Had the boat not had some significance to our family, I may have sold it it to one of you other tin-heads and watched you struggle instead. Finding the Iboats forums allowed me to discover I wasn't crazy (or now at least I had some crazy company) and re-energized me. By comparing notes and making suggestions on how to do stuff, members have created a community of support that goes beyond the mere technical issues. Though my build is complete, I promise not to disappear. I'll be lurking, waiting to tell you when I think your gas tank or your battery is in the wrong place. Thanks again guys. - Grandad

Hey, guess what arrived safely today. Thanks Glen, both plaques turned out great, as pictured above. They're discreetly displayed as the dining room table centerpiece until the family gets a look at them. They'll hang above my desk until warmer weather when I'll get a picture of them with the boat for posterity. I promise not to get them wet.
From what I've seen in the first 6 weeks of 2014, next year's SOTY should be quite the contest. I'm gonna sit this one out, but I'll be watching from the sidelines. Game on.
