2014 350 mag 5.7l mercruiser

boat cranks, but will not fire. have power go to relay housing and swapped relay with starter relay. Still all cranking but won't start.

Checked power going to fuel pump and not get any.

please help

A 2014 would be a CAT motor, but lets have the serial number?

When key is turned ON, do you here the fuel pump turn ON for 2 seconds?

Have you checked the fuses on the motor?

fuel pump not coming on. I checked that fuel pump on the power line for the fuel pump.


any particular fuse I should check.

Look where the PCM and relays are. There will be mini fuses (item 15) and will be covered with a cap. Its showing 2 - 15amp and 3 - 20 amp. The fuel pump will be 15. Check all the fuses

The main power relay turns ON first before the PCM will turn ON the FP

Do you hear Beep when key is first turned ON?

first of all thanks for your help.

It does beep when I tune the key.

all fuses are fine.

I checked the wires that power the fuel pump and found wasn't getting any power. some corrosion on wires cleaned and now my relay is clicking. I hear the fuel pump come on now foe a few seconds when I turn the key on.

couple of issues still.

engine still won't fire. it seems like its it almost catches but it doesn't.

also when I move some of the wires on the fuel pump and when I turn the key in the on position the fuel pump doesn't engage. I move the wires around and it engages.

again any help would be appreciated

would a bad fuel filter cause any of these problems?

Sounds like a bad connection or bad relay

Measure power at the relay and find out if pin 86 (green wire) goes to ground when key is turned ON. After pump turns OFF there should be 12V on the pin
