Pre-race inspection is complete for today's Cup race. No one flunked - Even Truex had a good spoiler. One car to the rear for a driver change - Smithley.

I expect a hard fought race with Elliott, Bowman, Truex and Busch1 doing everything they can to make the final 4. Only Joey has a safe final 4 berth with his win at Kansas.

I have no DirecTV today as it looks like the receiver died, so I'll have to scramble to pick up the local local NBC station with my seldom used OTA antenna.

The last time Hamlin raced at Martinsville all the Gibbs cars used the same wrong setup except for Truex, who won. Today the Hamlin crew found a bad shock stop and Nascar said if they work on it before the race they would stat at the rear. The Hamlin team opted to go with and try to do something during the first pit stop.

Engines fired and warmup laps are underway.

Two cars stayed out, the rest pit. HBurton first out of the pits. HBurton takes the lead.

One of those two was Carson Hocevar, local to me driver. He led 5 laps and finished 13th. His 6th truck race of the year. Very cool stuff for this 17 year old.
