20hp 4 stroke fuel pump filter ? Clean or replace (pics included)

Hey everyone,
sorry to hear about the loss of this groups moderator.

heres what I’m working on.
ive got a 20 hp 4 stroke
model 1a202001bk
serial or895299.
it starts and runs great until you try to give it full throttle where it bogs and lurches.
i eventually worked my way to the vapor separator and pulled the fuel pump in there. The filter bag atta to pump is clearly filled with crap. But heres my issue, can you separate the bag from the piece of plastic to empty and clean it out. It appears there’s some kind of check in the bag that doesn’t allow stuff back out and I’m nervous using to much force for separating.
also in the parts list and diagram it isn’t clear if the actual filter is included or just the connecting piece plastic. Hopefully the pictures Ive included help illustrate what I’m talking about.

Got it put back together but think that skipping at high throttle is saying I didn’t fix anything. hoping the weather will cooperate so I can take it out soon and see.
any thoughts or advice would be appreciated

Well I think I fixed it.
I couldn’t find a replacement high fuel pressure pump filter
but I soaked the old one in carb cleaner over night periodically shaking the hell out of it. Im really curious what a new one of them look like because i couldnt really tell if the filter bag had crap in it or if its filled with a material that does the filtering and was just stained, hopefully I’m making sense
it definitely looked cleaner. took it out today and it running great.
hopefully this help someone in the future thats having similar issues
