20hp chrysler???

I just got a new boat and I need a larger motor, I seen a older chrysler 20hp,but I hardly ever see them.Are they hard to keep up,as far as parts?

I can understand saving money, but you have anwered your own question! Yes, some parts for the older Chryslers are nexed to imposable to find, but there are several old outboard parts places! You can spend a lot of time looking though! I think your best way to go is with an older merc or evenrude johnson! My personal experience and choice for an older motor would be evenrude or johnson, (just personal choice)! finding and old (good) motor is sometimes hard to do! Sometime you can find and older retired gentleman that worked in the marine field that rebuilds these old motors as a hobby! then you prettymuch know what youve got!<br /><br />LubeDude

I agree with lubeDude.Stick with the common makes.<br /> I feel the Evinrude and Johnsons are a little easier to work on.You can do a lot on some models<br />with just a crescent wrench,pliers and a screw driver. New parts from the early 50s to present are available from Sierra or even NAPA auto parts.
