I have a 20RL69 johnson. When i run it with the flusher on, there a stream of water that comes out from the bottom of the cav plate towards the transom. There are 2 holes there. Should there be water comming out there? Its spurattic at the exhaust.sometimes it gushes, then it doesnt. Is this a concern?

Re: 20HP water question

Anytime you use muffs you'll see water coming from strange places. You are putting water under pressure into the pump area. It'll find a way out. The gushing out the exhaust is due to the t-stat opening and closing. Nothing to worry about. Question for you....how did you connect the flusher up to this puppy anyways??

Re: 20HP water question

I used a flusher that connects with springs directly on the intake shoot above the prop. Can't recall who makes it, but its brand new, just out of the box. Its about a 3" long half mooned piece that completly covers the intake & held on by a plate that fits onto the cav plate. It shoots water a lot better then the ol fashioned muffs do. I don't like to use them on small motors. Seem to not fit right. Thanks for the help. I need all I can get! lol<br />-Scott-
